Building D
Perhaps most famous for a recent incident that led to it's demolition, BLDG D, a gutted LADWP building located off of Zoo Drive was much more than a shelter to feral cats or a canvas for taggers. Unknown to most, this structure had two separate hidden doors in its floor, the first of which, led to a sewer system connected to the nearby L.A. river (where the boy fell into) but the second, long sealed shut, led to a sixteen foot drop into a south-eastern directed pathway that begins a subterranean entry into the park's hidden tunnel system. There are five known access points to this tunnel system in Griffith Park, however, two, including this one, are considered inactive/inaccessible today.
This site is also significant in that there have been multiple accounts of THM spotted in or near this structure.
